Dangers of Vaping Town Hall October 17

A town hall to examine the effects of vaping is scheduled for October 17th from 7-8:30 pm at Libertyville High School Auditorium. The panel will include five experts on the dangers of vaping including Lake County State's Attorney Nierheim, Mundelein Chief of Police Eric Guenther, Respiratory Health Association Director Matt Maloney, Lake County Public Health Department Tobacco Programs Coordinator Lea Bacci and Adam Hergenrender, a young man recently hospitalized due to vaping.

Disney Themed Learning Sparks Student Engagement

Second grade Two-Way Immersion Teacher Emily Putz transformed her classroom into a Disney-themed wonderland to spark student engagement. Her classroom looked like the Happiest Place on Earth while students were partaking in themed learning experiences such as Incredible Word Work, Belle’s Reading Buddies, Toy Story Problems, Finding Fiction and Cinderella Seesaw. This cross-curricular learning experience was a huge hit with students.

Raúl the Third to Visit District 75 Schools

District 75 is excited to welcome the author and illustrator Raúl the Third to our schools on October 9th and 10th.  Raúl The Third is an award-winning illustrator, author, and artist living in Boston. His work centers around the contemporary Mexican-American experience and his memories of growing up in El Paso, Texas and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.

Mark Your Calendars for Bratfest!

District 75’s annual Bratfest is on Friday, September 6 from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm at Carl Sandburg Middle School. Food is available for purchase. Additionally, there will be tons of fun for kids with bouncy houses, face painting, games and prizes! Community organizations will also be there with valuable information. Activity tickets are $1 and can be purchased at the event.

The beginning of school is a month away!

We are so excited to welcome the students back for the 2019-2020 school year. By the end of July, families will begin receiving information about class placements, schedules, and bussing, as well as, additional plans for kindergarten transition. Until then, here are some key dates for your family calendars.

Remember, the first day of school for students in 1st through 8th grade is August 14th. Kindergarten will begin the following day on August 15th.

Kindergarten Kick off will be August 6th from 5-7 at Washington School.

STEAM Camp 2019

Attention! Registration for STEAM Camp 2019 at Mundelein High School starting this June is still open for students entering grades 1-9! At this camp, there are many summer opportunities for students to be involved in engaging Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math activities!
